Things Unsaid

Some conversations are more real when they never happen

“I hope when people say my name, your heart drops.”

“You better be so, so incredibly happy. Just so this is all worth it.”

“I never think about you, but sometimes I do. Sometimes I think of you and get so mad that I even gave in. That I don’t understand how you could have done this to me. Sometimes I  miss you so much I think I will die. I will collapse, combust. Let everything clamped to me patter down to the threatening gutters and street holes, not caring where they end up. I’ll collapse and have not a single atom in me to pick me back up.

But all that was a lie anyways, I always think about you.”

“Maybe I lost someone who didn’t love me, but you lost someone who truly loved you. Question is, which is worse?”

“She is better than I am.”

“Yes, she is.”

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

“It never would have worked with me anyways.”

“Why?”

“My name isn’t Alexandra.”

“Name one person who didn’t think we were perfect together!”

“Me.”
